Over time the performance of your PC will drop. Regularly performing a few simple tests and by running some of the systems tools which are already installed on your PC can really help regain some of the speed you once had. Most of these tasks are really simple to carry out, so here are a few of videos which offer some really useful advice:
1) Perform a Disk Clean-up: Over time some of the programmes you install on your PC will no longer be used. By performing a quick "spring clean" on your computer, you can uninstall many of these programmes and free up some vital space.

2) Defragment your hard drive: Your computer will automatically save files where it can find space to do so. This can cause your hard disk to do extra work and slow down your computer as it tries to search for the information it needs. Your computer's Defragmentation tool helps to re-arrange this information to help your computer work more efficiently and carrying out this task regularly will help boost performance.
3) Install a graphics card: Your PC offers much more potential than using it for word processing and browsing the internet. By spending less than £50 on a mid-range graphics card, you can really get more from your PC. A graphics card will boost all the visual elements of your PC. It will improve how you watch DVDs and Blu-Ray disks . Worried that installing a graphics card will be too technical - then watch this!
4) Install more memory: If your computer is running slow, it might need some more memory. By adding at least 2GB more, this could help improve your computer's ability to handle multiple applications.
5) Get into Overclocking! Watch to see how even the youngest PC users can quick and easily boost the performance of his PC
6) Now overclock your graphics card: Now that you've improved the speed of your main computer chip, now see how easy it is to gain more performance from your graphics card.
