SeeSaw: Comedy Classics
Since it's launch earlier this year SeeSaw just seems to keep on growing...
If you've not been following SeeSaw or maybe even missed it's launch back in February this year you might not know what all the fuss is about.
Well, www.seesaw.com started life with a handful of hit shows from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4, being made available to watch for free through the website - in a similar way to the BBC iPlayer.
Since then though fresh content seems to have been added almost every week and there is now a really nice collection of shows sitting there ready and waiting for you to watch at your pleasure. Whilst there are still some gems like Channel 4's "The IT Crowd" available free of charge, some of the more popular series such as "House" or "Only Fools and Horses" are available to rent for up to three months. An average series will set you back a mere £4.99 or an episode £0.99p which isn't unreasonable at all.
Over the course of a week watching various clips we found the video streams to be nice and fast, even at peak times of the day and our only niggle was the video size. Whilst there is an option to go "full screen" this only works if you stay in that window - now, that won't be a problem for most people but for those who have two screens or use a TV as a second screen and work on their computer or laptop it can become a bit annoying and a strain to the eye.
The quality of the streams are also more than adequate - some older shows do look a little grainy but that probably has more to do with the source recording. All in all SeeSaw is great for catching up on all sorts of programmes and might even save you a Sky subscription if you're lucky!
